New Accurex Kitchen Hood is a Multi-Saver
Accurex, a national supplier of restaurant ventilation systems, has introduced a unique and cost effective self cleaning kitchen hood system with highly efficient filtration that eliminates the need for disassembly before cleaning, and significantly reduces water and energy use, where UV systems can require a sizable up-front investment and excessive maintenance costs. The Grease Grabber system employs two filter banks: a primary stage in which a centrifugal, air-vortex effect removes and traps the majority of grease particles, and a secondary stage — the industry-leading Grease Grabber bead-filled filter — to remove smaller particles, resulting in 100% grease removal at 8 microns and larger. Payback from this high-efficiency system versus standard baffle filters includes lower duct-cleaning costs, reduced fire risk and reduced grease-related roof damage. Grease Grabber’s innovative Waterwash function is a highly efficient, closed system that combines timesaving convenience with dramatic cost reductions related to water and energy use. Filters do not need to be removed and cleaned by hand. A solenoid-controlled system sends hot water mixed with detergent to spray nozzles aligned along filter banks and plenum area. The mix is recaptured and a high-efficiency pump recirculates it to conserve water. The system purges and rinses with fresh hot water. By greatly reducing the need to heat a steady, one-way flow of water, the recirculation method helps control utility costs. The wash cycle can be programmed on a timer to wash at certain times and days, or can be operated manually.
